Doorstroomtoets Training in Amsterdam

For many students in 7th and 8th grade, the Doorstroomtoets can be a stressful experience. Not because they don’t know the material, but because it’s often the first high-stakes test they take. That pressure can make it difficult for students to perform at their best, preventing them from showing what they’re truly capable of on test day.

Unlock Your Potential

A confident start

The Doorstroomtoets in grade 8 can feel overwhelming. It is an important milestone, as the score contributes to the secondary school recommendation. As a result, some children begin to doubt themselves, rush through the questions, or find it difficult to think calmly, even though they already have the knowledge they need.

That’s why effective preparation is about much more than simply practicing math and language skills. By working regularly with different types of questions, children gradually develop a sense of direction. They learn to recognize what each question is asking, understand which approach works best, and answer with greater confidence and clarity.

Our Tutoring Programs

A Proven Approach

Every student begins with an initial assessment. This gives us a clear understanding of what they’re already doing well and where they could benefit from additional support. Based on the results, we create a personalized learning plan tailored to each student’s individual needs. While one student may need extra focus on math, another may benefit more from additional practice in reading comprehension or language skills.

During our sessions, students practice with the same types of questions they will encounter on the Doorstroomtoets. As they become more familiar with these question formats, they learn to recognize them more quickly and discover which strategies work best. Our tutors have extensive experience with the Dutch placement test and know exactly how to guide each student toward the best possible result.
